Standing Together: A Reflection for Serenity Hospice
Here at Serenity Hospice, we are blessed with an extraordinary staff—people who show up each day with compassion, skill, and a willingness to walk alongside others in some of life’s most sacred moments. Yet even with all that dedication, we’re not meant to do this work alone.
The majestic Redwood trees of California offer us a powerful reminder of this truth. These giants stand tall and steady, embodying quiet strength, resilience, and grace. But what makes them truly remarkable is not just their height—it’s their roots. Redwoods do not grow deep; instead, they grow wide, intertwining with the roots of the trees around them. They remain upright because they hold on to one another.
What a beautiful symbol of community, teamwork, and shared strength.
At Serenity, we do the same. We lean on one another, support one another, and lock our “roots” together so we can carry out the work we’ve been called and equipped to do. Together, we provide the best care possible for all who are entrusted to us.
May we continue to stand tall, speak truth with gentleness, and lead with the quiet strength that comes from unity.
Peace and blessings,
Chaplain Dave
